Seeking Volunteers for Pet Rescue

We are seeking volunteers for a non-profit, pet rescue. If any of the below positions seems like a good fit, we want to hear from you. Visit us at Administrative Support Assisting with the many operational and organizational administrative tasks required to keep FoSCA operating smoothly. This may include data entry, paperwork, running errands, foster parent data management, updating adoption applications and related information; maintenance of pets medical information and more. Solid organizational and administrative skills a plus. Adoption Coordinator Assist in finding homes for FoSCA pets by marketing available dogs for adoption, reviewing applications, contacting landlord /vet offices, conducting phone screens, setting up home visits and completing adoption paperwork. Adoption Screener Assist in pre-approving adopters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption event Animal Transport Driver Transport animals and/or supplies; errands/pick up donations/drop off supplies. Travel is primarily in the Savannah area. Licensed, insured and reliable vehicle; space for kenneled animals; and valid driver’s license required.Help to drive dogs from boarding or foster homes to events or vet appointments. It is helpful if drivers can stay and handle that dog while at the event, but not required. Facility Manager Responsibilities: Ongoing facility maintenance including utility coordination if needed, computer hardware, replenishing supplies and cleaning, lawncare and more. Foster Parent Responsible for the daily care of foster pet. FoSCA will provide all necessary medical care and full support throughout the foster period, which foster parent must be willing to work with the pet to help them get ready for adoption (housebreaking, basic training, socialization, etc.). Frequent updates are required. Reliable computer, internet service and transportation a plus. Foster Screener Assist in approving fosters by reviewing applications, contacting landlord/vet offices, conducting phone screens and setting up home visits. Not required to attend adoption events. Fundraising and Event Coordinator Help FoSCA with fundraising events and activities as well as assist in coordinating foster, dog and volunteer attendance for adoption events that take place on future dates. Organizational and supervisory skills, and prior event planning experience a plus. Home Visitor Visit potential adopters and/or fosters in their home environment to assess safety and suitability for prospective adoptable or foster pets. For foster parents, volunteer will review program requirements and have foster parent sign foster parent release form. Visits should be no more than 30 minutes and checklist will be provided. Reliable transportation, drivers license and car insurance required.Visit potential fosters’ or adopters’ homes to ensure their homes are safe and full of love for their new companions. Kennel Technician/Dog Walker This is a dirty job but it’s very rewarding and where most veterinary professionals,even Veterinarians get their experience. You can’t be afraid to get dirty. You will wash food and water bowls, wipe up any spills on the furniture, and mop the floors if needed,dog and litter box clean up, give dogs a break from their cages with outdoor walks, and play with all the pets. Master Handler Handling dogs that need a more experienced hand (shy dogs, dogs who are scared of dogs or people, dogs who are reactive on leash, etc.) Pet Photographer & Writer Take photos of our adoptable pets and post to FoSCA website and social media to promote adoption. Create a biography of all FoSCA pets to be used on our website, PetFindfer and Facebook pages, including information submitted by the foster family.
