409 BLOCK 3788068 IS A 1962-ONLY CASTING NUMBER (December 26, 1961), 409 Horsepower.
SHORT BLOCK INCLUDES THE BLOCK, THE CRANKSHAFT, RODS AND PISTONS COMPLETE.
BLOCK HAS BEEN MAG'D AND IS STANDARD BORE, SO IT HAS NEVER BEEN BORED.
AS YOU KNOW, MOST 1962 409 CARS ARE MISSING THE ORIGINAL ENGINE.
SUPPOSED REPLACEMENT BLOCKS ARE NOT EVEN RESTAMPED, NOR DO THEY HAVE THE CORRECT SUFFIX CODE. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT 62 ONLY 3788068 BLOCK CASTING INTHE FIRST PLACE.
