About the Opportunity:
∙ Job Title: CNC Programmer
∙ Pay: $74,000/Salary
∙ Location: Minneapolis, MN
∙ Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Thurs 6AM-4:30PM with optional O/T.
Daily functions:
Create programs to control the operation sequence and cycling of 3,4 and 5 axis computer numerical controlled milling machines. Programs correct operational sequence, tooling change, x, y and z movement of carriage or head and cycle speed, etc. Develops programs from specifications, schematics or drawings using SolidworksCAD and MasterCAM. Requires thorough knowledge of CNC mill machine capabilities and materials characteristics. Works under general supervision.
Programs correct operational sequence of CNC mill machines to fabricate metal parts including tooling changes and x, y, and z movement of multi-axis CNC machining centers.
Uses drawings and solid models alongside MasterCAM to plan and create tool paths to guide the CNC mill machine.
Designs necessary work holdings.
Provides input or feedback for process improvements.
Considers quality control and safety when developing programs.
Reads drawings and other work orders to perform job.
Completes and maintains paperwork for work produced.
Ensures work is done safely by adhering to established safety policies and procedures.
Maintains clean and safe work area in compliance with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
Desired qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Proficient computer skills, minimum 3 years’ experience using SolidWorks and MasterCAM.
Thorough knowledge of CNC mill machine capabilities and materials characteristics.
Ability to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, or other production orders.
Maintain routine records.
Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, and measurement devices, as well as methods and techniques used in safe machining operations.
Strong attention to quality and detail orientation.
Mechanical competency.
Mathematical skills.
Ability to work independently.
Time management skills to meet schedules and time standards, to best of ability as instructed.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Physical requirements:
Communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Stand, sit, and walk continuously.
Stoop, crouch, and reach.
Grasp, finger and feel.
