A&P Mechanic Position Open in San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Airframe and Powerplant Technician is responsible for service and maintenance of the aircraft systems, power plant, airframe and components. This includes performing: inspections preventive maintenance troubleshooting part replacement repairs Other routine maintenance such as fluid servicing and lubrication. Education Requirements Education High School diploma or GED/equivalent required Certification FAA A&P License required Experience Requirements Experience with PT 6 Turbo Prop Engines Preferred Other Pratt & Whitney Engine Model Experience considered Shorts 330 or 360 Aircraft, King Air Preferred Other Twin Turbo Prop aircraft experienced considered Additional Responsibilities Qualifications Qualifying Experience Needed 3 to 7 years experience in trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance of aluminum and/or composite skinned, pressurized jet/turboprop aircraft preferred. Shorts 330/360, King Air Aircraft Desired Other Twin Turbo Prop Aircraft experience considered Pratt & Whitney PT6 engine experience preferred Other Pratt & Whitney Engine Model experience considered Engine Maintenance, Overhaul and Repair a plus Borescope, Engine Hot Section Experience a plus Knowledge/Skills Knowledge and ability to use power tools The ability to become skilled on the use of various test and ground equipment Basic computer knowledge Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Other Requirements At least 18 years of age Valid US driver's license (revoked, suspended or expired are not considered valid) Passing of a 10-year background check Passing of pre-placement physical abilities test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen Passing and maintaining recurring pulmonary function check for the use of a respirator with no medical restrictions or limitations, if necessary Clearing a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position required (Air Cargo Carriers will consider applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable State and Federal law) Possess own tools and the ability to purchase additional tools if required Flexible to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays required Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of pre-employment skills tests and interview Reliable, punctual attendance is essential function of the position. Assist other technicians with a variety of tasks related to aircraft maintenance and aircraft movement Ability to mentor and train (OJT) Ability to work unsupervised Ability to work as a team FOD Control / Housekeeping Duties – Proper Storage and clean, organized work area Physical Abilities This position requires you to perform a variety of physical activities such as: Accessing elevated areas of aircraft for maintenance and servicing which may require the use of ladders, jet stairways, high lift trucks, boom lifts and other lifting devices Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, working overhead, extensive walking, working in tight/confined spaces and lifting up to 50 pounds Handling hazardous material in performance of assigned duties Be able to use Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.) This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by an employee within this position; additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate Qualifications Qualifying Experience Needed 3 to 7 years’ experience in trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance of aluminum and/or composite skinned, pressurized jet/turboprop aircraft preferred.
