Host a foreign exchange student

Thank you for your interest in placing a foreign exchange student in your home. My name is Mark, and I am the local representative for ISE (International Student Exchange). I have lived in the Kokomo area my entire life. My job is simply to match you up with a student that shares your same interests, as well as guide you through the entire process. About ISE: ISE is one of the largest and longest running placement programs in the US. ISE is a non-profit organization organization. They put their students, schools, and families above all else. ISE has many different hosting programs available to suit your needs. Opportunities are available for periods of 5 months, 10 months or a full 12 month program, with the most common being the 10 month academic year program. Hosting a foreign exchange student means opening your home and your heart to a teen from another country while they attend your local public high school. Students are ages 15-18, and come from over 45 different countries. All students: Speak English Have medical insurance Have a strong academic record Bring their own spending money Are carefully screened Are excited to meet you! Placing a student into your home provides many advantages: Make a new lifelong friend w/ similar interests Provide a favorable view of America Expose your family to a new culture Tax deductable Have your family gain an appreciation for what they have Teach your family love and respect Provide your children with a unique experience There are only 4 simple requirements once you are approved to host: 1. Provide a loving and caring home for a student. 2. Provide a bed and a place to study. The student may share a room with a child of the same sex. 3. Provide 3 meals a day 4.
