Chef Chimney Rock Marina And Restaurant Harrodsburg, KY, 40330 Duties and Responsibilities RECENT GRADUATES OR CURRENT STUDENTS IN FOOD PREPARATION ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. HOURS WILL BE MAINLY WEEKEND HOURS DUE TO THE SEASONAL NATURE OF THE MARINA BUSINESS LOCATED ON HERRINGTON LAKE. * Familiar with several styles of cuisine including: family style restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner made from fresh ingredients including steaks, prime rib and seafood. * Prepare food in a restaurant. * Prepare soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, fish, shellfish. * Prepare raw produce for cooking or eating. * Cook foods by baking, roasting, broiling, frying, saut?ing, steaming, grilling. * Kept up a detailed knowledge of the menu. * Maintain clean and tidy personal appearance. * Inspect food prep areas to be sure of safe, clean food-handling practices. * Turn and stir foods to make sure they cooked evenly. * Season and cook foods according to recipe. * Portion foods. * Arrange foods on dishes. * Garnish foods. * Regulate temperature of cooking equipment such as oven, broiler, grill, roaster. * Work well with other kitchen staff. * Work other cooks' shifts when needed. * Help other cooks keep up with work during rush periods. * Knowledge sets include: Commercial use convection ovens, Commercial use deep fryers, Commercial use food slicers, Commercial use grills, Food safety labeling systems, People Skills, Point of sale POS restaurant software. Nature of Work Duration: Full Time, Seasonal Normal Work Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Working Hour per Week: 40 hour(s) Normal Work Shifts: Any Shift Overtime work might be required.
