1) Since we are contracted with the state, we only go out when they see a need for our assistance 2) When the state notifies us, we call drivers on our list to see who is available 3) Shifts are 12 hr. shifts but that can change depending on the snow event. It could be less if it stops and roads have been treated or go to a max of 14 hrs. if we are in a state of emergency 4) Pay is $32.50/hr. while driving and starts when you arrive at the barn for your shift 5) If your truck breaks down and is down over an hour, pay drops to $15/hr. with the exception of changing a flat tire or changing a snow plow blade 6) You must pre-trip your truck before shift starts 7) Salt must be emptied out of truck before leaving if you are on last shift 8) If for any reason you cannot unload salt, report it to the office (salt left too long hardens and has to be busted out by hand) 9) Stay in contact with office and report any issues with the truck that need mechanical assistance and follow up when repairs are made and you are back on the road 10) Responsible for completing your time sheet (in trucks) and turning in to team lead or sending picture to the office
