Hi! I'm Gittle. Thanks for stopping by to look at my profile page. As you can see from my profile picture, I am a gorgeous Yellow-naped amazon. I found my way to the Refuge after my mom passed away. During the time I've spent here, I've discovered that I LOVE men. Women are really not my thing, but maybe I just haven't met the right one yet? If you're looking for a new green buddy, please consi...
Hi! My name is Stormy. I'm a Double-Yellow Headed Amazon. I was neglected for a couple of years before finding my way to the Refuge. Life has been much better since I came to live here. Due to my previous experiences, I am sometimes prone to lunging if you put your fingers too near to my cage. I hope you'll respect me enough to understand this. I do, however, behave very well when people clean ...
At one time Blueberry was part of a wild flock of Amazons living in California. He sustained an injury which required veterinary care. It is against the law to release a non-native bird species in California, so once he was taken into captivity, he couldn't return to his flock. He is very shy and would do best in an aviary type setting.Adoption processSee website
Rico was hatched in 1970 which makes him a senior bird. He is bonded to Paco, who has vision problems. Rico serves as Paco's protector and 'seeing-eye' bird. These two birds need to be adopted together and would love a home where they can spend their days socializing and loving life.Adoption processSee website
Bobbin is a grey normal Cockatiel and represents one of many Cockatiels available for adoption. Bobbin is not well suited for family socialization, as he has a male partner and defends his relationship. Other Cockatiels are hand tamed and friendly and come in many coloration's. A visit is a must to see who is available and get a chance to meet the one Cockatiel looking for you. $75 adoption fee...
Meet Firebird, she is a gorgeous cockatiel that was recently found as a stray. We don't know much about Firebird since she does have an unknown past but so far in our care she has been easy going. She does chirp and whistle but its not a constant. Sh...
Hi, my name is Molly 2! My real name is just plain Molly, but because there are two Moluccans in the garage, both with the name Molly, we are differentiated by the numbers 1 and 2. People don?t call me Molly 2 while playing with me? just Molly works for me. I am a big, happy boy. Yes, I said ?boy?! Obviously, my previous owner didn?t realize I was a boy, which is why the name Molly was chosen. ...
Hi! My name is Rocky and I'm a big Moluccan cockatoo. I've had a bit of a rough life. I had a mom who loved me very much, but she passed away. Her sister tried to care for me, but I got overly excited and bit her and then she put me into a small room and never let me out of my cage. I don't like to dwell on this time in my life though, so let's focus on my current life.Adoption processAll of ou...
Hi, my name is Tony! I'm a Lesser Sulphur-crested cockatoo. I'm a bit choosy when it comes to who I like, but I'm really sweet once I get to know you. I like to cuddle up underneath your chin while you pet me. I adore under wing rubs and clack my beak while receiving them. I'm really good at chewing up pieces of wood and I'm the only bird at the Refuge who had his very own toy box at the bottom...
Hi, I'm Rosie, a Moluccan cockatoo. Like my name suggests, I am a female. I've proven it over the years by occasionally laying an egg. I tend to be a bit shy around humans, but I really like other birds. I have a special friend at the Refuge. Her name is Maxine and she's a Goffin's cockatoo. You should go check out her profile after you read mine. I adore spray bottle baths and scream with deli...
Hi, I'm Mickey! I'm a male Umbrella cockatoo. I choose the people I like carefully, but if you're one of those people, I'll be your best friend. I do require someone with cockatoo experience who can read my body language. I don't like when people wear baseball hats. Baseball hats scare me. Please keep this in mind if you come to visit me. Unlike a lot of the other cockatoos here, I don't like a...
Hi, my name is Johnnie and I am a male Greater Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. I am a big boy and when I first came to the Refuge, I was a pretty miserable guy. I was very overweight, grumpy, sick and a big feather picker. One of my very favorite people, a volunteer at the Refuge, took an instant liking to me and has worked with me for years. I am happy to report that I am no longer the miserable bir...
Hi, My name is Shady. Thanks for stopping by to check out my profile! I'm a cute Goffin's cockatoo who came to the Refuge with Gittle (Yellow-naped amazon) after our mom passed away. We're both waiting patiently for new homes (although we do not need to be adopted together). I love women, but it takes me a little while to warm up to men. I also really like towels. I was pretty plucked when I fi...
