Doc Frye pool cue (NOT Don Frey) - 1969? Custom made - Only one owner - VERY rare DON'T BE CONFUSED !! This is NOT a Don Frey cue (Delaware area) The BEST cue i have ever used and i have owned and used a dozen top level cues. Doc Frye custom made this cue for me in 1969/70? (and one for Steve Mizerak too! ) as a sponsor to an upcoming teen talent. This cue belongs in one of the great cue collections i've seen since Doc Frye (Hall of Fame) cues were made during the Balabuska and Szamboti era. I don't play anymore so why have it just sit around in a closet. The last time this cue was used was about 1975. It's 57 9/16" Long about 20oz The butt is Brazilian Rosewood with Irish linen wrap - Still in excellent condition and still straight even after about 49 years - one shaft about 13mm - the ferrule (ivory/buckhorn?), original "Champion" tip and bottom butt are also near perfect. This stick has the most incredible solid feel probably due to fewer assembly parts and solid wood butt. It's ALL 100% ORIGINAL ...PERIOD ! There are stories that Doc Frye somehow put a new penny into the butt of his cues. I have never attempted to look for or disassemble this cue to look for it but i think he may have done this on cues made sometime after 1969/1970. Made by Doc Frye who taught Gus Szamboti how to make top of the line Professional Pool Cues (late 60's early 70's). Both are Hall of Fame cue makers from around Phila PA and the Luther Lassiter, Willy Mosconi and Steve Mizerak era. Asking $5795 - Includes hard case. Make offer - made in 1969/1970?
